Strange Wireless issues
I recently changed ISP's, and now am able to network my connection easily. So on monday, i set up the router to work with my new ISP. That was fine. All the laptops in the house connected, with no fuss whatsoever. However, my main PC wouldnt connect via cable, and my bedroom PC was too far away to connect. I trakced down the issue with the main PC as being a problem with the ethernet port supplied onboard. So on wednesday (busy tuesday XD) i went down to PC world and bought an ethernet card for my main PC, and a wireless card for my bedroom PC. However, i couldtn recieve a signal. I figured that the point was to far away (its only 20ft or so,  but i couldnt see any other problems unless the card was faulty), but as i couldnt move the point, i instead returned the card and chose one that supposedly had a 300m range. Now, i fitted this card, and, although it detects my network, it has connection issues of epic proportions (it flickers more than a candle ffs). However, i can access my wireless just fine using my laptop, which is on the other side of the room and only supposedly has a 100m range. I figure atm that its because its a belkin wireless card. The box says that "for optimal performance, use with a belkin router". Although unlikely, the only solution i can see is that there is something deliberately limiting my connection since i don't have a belkin router (i have a fairly old D-link, but it works absolutely fine for anything else). Also, i can't connect my PSP half the time whilst in said bedroom, although i assume that's due to the PSP having limited range.

Anyway, for those tl;dr moments, one wireless card with a range of 300m can't connect, whilst one of 100m can connect from further away. Is it belkins fault, or am i just screwed?
