Hah, I remember only being in detention twice. The first time,  the teacher in charge just let everyone talk and do whatever they wanted.  Second time, people showed up like 30 minutes late and no one cared.  I had a saturday school one time, and after about an hour of holding us, the teacher said screw it, and told us wee could do whatever, and even let some of us walk the halls (dunno why).  And you know, all my detentions were for not having my shirt completely tucked in or forgetting a belt, OR excessive tardies, which were because my mom didn't like to wake up until 10-15 minutes before my class started, so it was always all about me running as fast as possible to class.  I was a well-behaved kid, but detention/saturday school was a joke at all the schools I went to.
