You know, the reason why Vista fails so hard is that it has 20 years of legacy code running under the hood. This plus all the new features and whatnot weigh it down like crazy. They need to do what Apple did, that is, start fresh with an entirely new OS. Ditch the old code (from pre-XP) that weighs it down in favor of an entirely rewritten OS that runs more efficiently.
