I'm looking in to a tweaked version like BlackXP or TinyXP but I haven't decided if it's worth it or if I should just go for a normal XP with everything included (patches) and then use nLite. nLite is used to remove worthless things, correct?

Yes correct. And what is nice is you CHOOSE what you want removed not like in blackXP and TinyXP.
