Entry into the Law degree needs a pre-requisite of 90+ in majors in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. And as additional criteria for acceptance, u have to pass the Umat with a score of 200+, with no less than 50 in any of the 3 components, and pass both rounds of the selection interview.
Nah, I meant don't you have to do law courses?  I think I have a law course...

Assassinator Wrote:(That's more like something Medicine would require)
But still, over here, law is nowhere as hard as medicine...

Law courses for business?  ... u mean Commercial Law and Taxation and stuff? Yeah, the Commerce/Econ students probably need to do that.

In terms of entry, yeah, Law is nowhere close to medicine. Med is like UAI 99+, and all that Umat and interviews and stuff i listed in the last post. U won't have the requirement of getting 90+ in all these subjects i listed, but if u can't get 90+ in them, ur unlikely to get 99+ UAI anyways, so yeah, basically u have to.

Well, Med does pay like an average of like $200,000+ a year or something like that in Australia, up to like $500,000 if ur a good doctor with a good specialization. Specialization takes ages though (i mean ages, like 6 years for uni, 1 for internship, and like 6-12 more years for specialization)... so the extremely high entry score is not that unreasonable.

All Law needs is a UAI of like 95+ (or higher, depending on the uni), and a certain grade in English.... Law pays very good, if you're a good lawyer. Pays average if ur a poo poo lawyer. So the pay is not as guaranteed as med, and depends quite a lot on your performance, so Med is a more desired profession.

Meh, if I can get part 3 qualifications for actuarial studies, I'm looking at around $100,000 fresh in the workforce, and around $200,000 after some experience and years (of which tax will eat like more than 1/3 Sadist). Quite a lot.... but Med still pays better :@.

Stats is extremely fun... (sarcasm) ... i actually have a stats test tomorrow ... Meh, atleast i don't have to do 13+ years like u have to for a good pay in med.

What I find interesting, is that some bullets travel faster than the speed of sound.  Especially those high powered guns, apparently can shoot bullets faster than 1km/s.  Speed of sound = ~340m/s, so those movies, where the hero has super faster reaction times, dodging a bullet after hearing it being fired, is somewhat wrong... :P

A human's reaction speed is like around 200ms.

By the time u react to the bullet being fired (assuming that u don't predict beforehand that it'll be fired) u will long have been hit.

So even if the bullet is way slower than the speed of sound, if u account for the human's reaction speed, you're still fudgeed.

0.2 seconds is actually quite slower than the standard human reaction speed.  I think about 0.06 seconds is standard (if the person is paying attention).
Of course, those movies are fictional, and the hero is always some insane person, so wee can assume almost instantaneous.  Even so, it's impossible :P

lol.

0.2 was just my guess.... hahahaha

even if it's 0.06, that's the pure reaction speed. It would take the person ages to mode his/her body out of the way after reacting to it.

Big Grin RE: How to calculate the speed and energy of a bullet
Your formula helped a lot. I didn't use the camera screen shot method, however. I needed to figure out the joules of my air soft because I wanted to buy a target which had a .6j limit (It would have saved me an hour of math and research if the idiots just advertised a feet/second limit). It turns out my spring airsoft is over 2 joules (way too powerful for the target I was interested in). Thanks a Million, you saved me $12! http://endlessparadigm.com/forum/images/...iggrin.gif[/bg]
