Connect Four has been solved by James D. Allen (1 October, 1988), and independently by Victor Allis (16 October, 1988)[1]. With perfect play, the first player can force a win by starting in the middle column. Starting in the two adjacent columns allows the second player to reach a draw; starting with the four outer columns even allows the second player to force a win.

RE: Connect 4 (Assassinator VS Zinga)
As long as both players think a bit, and don't act like idiots, it would most likely end up in a draw.
Unlike chess, this is too simple and unless someone makes a big mistake, u generally can't win. If u think before u move, u shouldn't make a big mistake. U need a multi-win combo for victory, but these are easy to spot as they are taking shape.

Yeah. But then, you can't really play chess like this :P
(then you have cheaters >_>)
You have the advantage in this game though.
