i do think that would be too much junk at the top if you don't use it. its fine like this except ppl can't find it, lol. maybe make a <a name hyperlink at the top ?

As soon as the shoutbox was moved to the top, the forums died.

I say it's good the way it is now. With the recent posts list at the top and the shoutbox on the bottom.
