RE: Fudge.
To me, it doesn't sound like a HDD problem. Random crashes often occur from overclocking (makes system components less stable).
Also try reducing your RAM timings.
As for RAID0 - you do know that both drives must be formatted before you can make an array, right? Also, it sounds like you're using an onboard RAID controller (which are usually relatively poo poo) - so Windows may require a RAID driver if you haven't previously installed one.

RE: Fudge.
no double you tee eff, it randomly crashes but then it doesn't recognise the harddisks in the bios afterwards, so i think itis the raid controller. also, did you take a look at the screenshot in there? theres tons of hdd-related errors in event viewer. and i don't overclock, and my pc is definately cooled sufficiently.
yeah the raid controller is onboard, but it worked all this time (couple of weeks) fine, and i did install the drivers. i know its poo poo but mm it works
also the disks don't need to be formatted to make an array , they just become unreadable after you make the array.

RE: Fudge.
Interestingly, I've had the exact same errors after playing around with my RAM timings. Don't ask me how, but it just happened to do odd stuff to my RAID controller, and also caused my bootsector to become corrupt.
Could be because of instability, but I dunno.

RE: Fudge.
wow that's weird.. well i didnt do any overclocking but i did install new ram, the same time i made the array so it'd be strange if it just started malfunctioning now
