More findings:
It seems that if you change an icon, or a menu name it has no effect on the actual XMB, even though the RCO has been changed... does this mean that it's reading the names from the PTF?
Also, when I told it not to use Cookies, the cookies theme is still on flash1 (i checked in hex workshop) and I'm guessing the PSP is just told not to read the icons from the PTF or something similar.
But what's really weird, when I deactivated cookies and flashed a new topmenu_icon.rco, it had no effect on the icons even though i had changed the game icon.. and it didn't shut off the PSP... somethings weird here

Edit: Ok now it just freezes and no icons show up

Alright, here's a few PTFs I screwed around with (based off cookies.ptf).

Could someone with 3.71 please test these to see if they work?

If it works, the SYSTEM icon should be replaced.

I stuck two dummy PTFs in there as well, see if this allows you to use RCOs or whatnot.

uncomp.ptf  theme's showes a settings icon!!
uncomp-decompflag.ptf normal cookie theme
zlib.ptf all original icon's
zlib-decompflag.ptf original icon's

the dummy cookie ptf  i need to copy to flash1!?!
then try and flash rco's into flash0!?

The zlip poo poo ones might work i dunno but shows normal icon's so might not work,..!??

Okee here is what i did witht he dummy files,.
dummy file into memstick>>psp>>theme>>selected the dummy in the xmb and then tried flashing a decrypted 3.71 topmenu rco,..

No, set theme normally with the dummy files.  After that, see if you can customize any RCOs.

Try these fixed zlib ones:

Yes the uncomp.ptf  showes all cookie icon's except the settings icon its the original settings icon (settings, photo, music, video etc etc)

new zlip files:
zlib.ptf shows normal icon's
zlib-decompflag.ptf shows normal icon's,..

To be clear i only tested custom rco with the dummy files and not with all other ptf's,.

Dummy files and custom flashed rco to flash0 no go,.. :(

What was suposed to be changed with uncomp-decompflag.ptf !?!

(also tested uncomp-decompflag.ptf with a flashed custom rco,.. no go,..)
