RE: Vista or XP
hmmm ok ill probrably take your advice Zinga and use a Vista transforamtion pack to trick my siblings into thinking its Vista :) . but also thanks for the advice on not going Vistax64, even thought the copy I have here is vista x86. im on a 32bit XP now and considering on going 64bit.
oh yeah and just to know, how do you know if your hardware is compatible with a 64bit OS, and if my software is compatible?

RE: Vista or XP
umm. software usually works, drivers don't. check to see if there are 64bit drivers for all ur stuff like printers, mobile phones pdas etc. as for hardware, check ur processor. use cpu-z to get info.

RE: Vista or XP
Lol, you always take whatever I say >_> Probably not a good idea (even though I'd think otherwise :P). You should really be more critical...
Anyway, IDK about Vista Transformation Pack - it does hog your resources anyway. I really think your best option is to dual boot.
As for XP x64, you have a 64 bit CPU, so you can run it. As for drivers, just search the manufacturer's website to see if 64 bit drivers are available.

ben3gfc Wrote:diego_429 Wrote:ok thanks for this guys but even if I dual boot I still will buy a new HDD since mine now is only 80GB. . . .and that's shared with 3 people so wee are all backing everything up on DVD's
haha, that's the same as me, i have a 60GB HD and its all used by me :P and i back up everything to DVDs because of the lack of space and because i cbf buying a Portable HD because i would rather use the money for a new PC :D
yeah the same . . . . and im planning to save up for a new PC just for me so my siblings can do whatever they want to this one. . . (even though my brother has a macbook) >.<
uhh yeah Almight Zinga! Must Obey! . . . anyways im lazy to look around for a 64bit one so I just got a vista transformation pack now. . . it really seems to do well! exept for the 3d flip thing . . ( I ununstalled it since it takes up alot of ram) but otherwise my siblings think its Vista and its not any slower from what I can tell.

RE: Vista or XP
i recommend Dual boot BUT no vista, use Linux Ubuntu to play with the graphics and XP to work.
