Really young? IDK, Azumanga Diaoh is rated fairly well...

From what i remember, Azumanga Daioh isn't really for young children either. I think when i saw it at the library, the DVD was rated M15+.

MA15+????????
Nonono: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclop...php?id=799
^ says aimed at children (I would disagree with "Older Children" - it's not hard for a ~8 year old to get it).
Plus, if you've watched it, you can clearly see it ain't targetted at older audiences...

Here's proof: http://www.madman.com.au/actions/catalog...ethod=view
Look at the picture of the box. Underneath it there's a sign saying MA15+, for reasons of adult themes. (It's also on the box picture too).
Even if the ratings are extremely exaggerated (which they often are), it extremely unlikely to be so exaggerated as to rate something fit for 8 year olds as MA15+.
Anyways, it's probably love related (meaning story got something to do with love). So even if it contains nothing that can't be watched by kids, young kids would probably be like "ewwwwwwwww... xxxxx said he likes yyyyy..."
Hmmm... for young children, maybe something like Astro-Boy.

RE: Where to get childrens anime
^ Interesting, but then again, different countries have different rating systems too. The trailer I saw (on another DVD) targeted young kids.
I seriously find it hard for anyone over the age of 12 to like Azumanga Diaoh. I've only seen 3 episodes (it's one of the animes I couldn't stand to watch) and there was nothing objectionable...
It certainly doesn't look love related at all, more comedy (which no-one over 12 should find amusing) and slice of life.
As an example of "exaggerated ratings", I believe Spiderman (the movie) was rated M15+ here, but was targeted at children around the age of 10-12 in America (which had a PG rating).
Anyways, I dunno - from what I've seen, it only appears to target young children.

Spiderman is more a family type movie, meaning it is targeted at a wide age scope, basically for everyone. As in it's suitable for young children, but still enjoyable for older people.
But yeah, definately suitable for people under 15 years old.

Wee seems to have very different concepts of what an average 12yo kid is like. 12yo is like yr6. To me, yr 6kids seems to get excited at everything, and seems to like every kind of boring poo poo thrown at them, (and they are very EASY to manipulate, and follow like sheep). 10 year old kids are like "ewwwww... xxxx said he likes yyyy, that's soooooo ewwwwwwy".
