...taking note that 'g' has two pronunciations, I presume you refer to the 'g' as in game.

Typically, gi[consonant]__ uses 'g' sound, eg gig, gibber, giga, giddy, girl, etc, so I'd go with that.

What about SVG? Vectors are much better than bitmaps.

because I've seen there is source available

i was not able to compile it myself, i got errors with my (old) mingw setup.

It's not exactly in a working state (well, at least something I'd recommend using).
Currently there isn't much of a difference between the build here, so you may as well use that.
