Memory Stick -Corrupt and Loss Data Recovery
It's possible your memory stick data might become corrupt,
and you won't be able to format it, either from your psp or through windows.

If it happens, Sony has a formatting utility that will repair your memory stick:

And a utility that will recover lost data on your memory stick as well:

Hopefully this will help some users who have issues with their memory sticks.

Clean temp files from Windows Temp, Mozilla cache, Opera cache, IE cache.

Copy files from bad CD-DVDs.

this app comes standard on sony vaio laptops (and probably computers)
as I've got this installed already and i know for sure i didnt install it
