They don't support freedom, they support dictating their ideals onto other people whether they like it or not.
Which is, in essence, the exact opposite of freedom.

What they do is unwarranted and destructive. If you don't like facebook's way of working, don't use facebook.

Agree with you. THEY took the power to decide what's better for US, they're just playing God. I personally, can't wait to see them de anonimized and arrested.

RE: [News] Anonymous Shutting Down Facebook!
I highly doubt that will happen. If they do get facebook down, the worst that will happen is that a bunch of people won't be able to bask in their own mundanity for a day. Then after a day or so, everything will be back up, there will be a brief news article on how anonymous exists, and people will be up in arms for about a week (that's a generous estimate). After that, everyone will go back to normal. Folks will go back on facebook posting all kinds of meaningless spoon that nobody cares about, anonymous will go back to their home and post their own just as meaningless spoon that nobody cares about, and everyone will go right back to forgetting about everyone else and centering on themselves, the way it always goes.

SunnyAutumn, you sound like an idiot ranting about this, and are making a fool out of yourself getting all worked up. If you're really going to be so crushed by facebook being down for a day, you should step back and look at your own dependence on the site. Also, seeing as they announced this nearly a week ago, you should maybe take the precautionary step of planning something else to do besides sit on facebook for a day tomorrow. Or get one of your friends number's off of facebook so you can text them all the things that are typically posted on facebook. "Gearing up for Friday night!", "dRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNKKKKKKKKKKK", "OMG i love my bf", "wee aer sooooooo besties", all of those extremely important messages can indeed be sent over text messages.

Personally I don't have a facebook, as I feel that it cheapens human interaction, as well as violating privacy in a big way. While I don't care enough either way to try and force my opinions on the matter, I honestly can't see how facebook being down for a day will cause much havoc besides MAYBE some people forgetting a birthday.

I look at it this way, it's either going to happen or it's not. If it happens, it happens so learn to deal with it and if it doesn't well then just keep doing whatever it is that you do on that site.

Same. Also how many times have they ( or other organizations) said this before and done absolutely nothing?

I'm a facebook user and It's up to me if I should be mad if FB is selling my info or not. Not that you are forced to input your real details, or forced to use facebook at all.

nothing.

Does it really matter if they decided to secretly or publicly sell or use your information? As long as you don't post anything you'll regret or "shouldn't" then you'll be fine. Same goes for everywhere on the net, don't post information your not prepared for others to see. It's just common sense.
