And it forces everyone to update their codec packs (actually, even the most up to date codec packs can't play it)... so maybe I should do that too...? Except when I tried it in the past, encoding 10bit is pretty slow.
I don't see the need to update yet. CCCP is still in beta and only a few groups are using it right now.
I was talking about encoding stuff to 10bit to troll others rather than others trolling me by encoding to 10bit. Very difficult to troll me on encoding matters.
Actually, it isn't really new or anything, 10bit encoding support has been added to x264 since like 1/2 a year ago. It's the decoder side that's lagging behind, which is why you don't see anyone do it.
Actually, make it 99%, 90% is way too generous.

Probably when 10bit support gets properly patched into ffdshow tryouts.

Hmm, I'm interested in new development for Madoka.
If they do animate Saya No Uta, I wonder if it means they'll show what Saya actually looks like.

CCCP with 10bit support was released 2 days ago as a stable release.
Well, that was quick.
Anyway, if you want an alternative, you can try mplayer-uau (which is now known as mplayer2). Here's one of lachs0r's mplayer2 builds packed with the smplayer frontend configured to be portable. Also supports ordered chapters and s hit (no other portable player does that). http://zingaburga.com/assassinator/Stora...ortable.7z

Is the ffdshow it uses stable?
Or does CCCP often include dev builds?

Dev build. Though it may be some older build confirmed to be relatively stable, rather than absolutely the newest thing on SVN.
Wait... does ffdshow ever release stable releases? /checks... last one is beta7 from 1.5yrs ago.

RE: [split] Happy moe schoolgirl love stories, ProperBritish, and "jus
Maybe I was thinking about mplayer2. Cause I recall the latest source code package on their website doesn't support 10-bit decoding.
Don't recall ff* to really give "stable" releases.

RE: [split] Happy moe schoolgirl love stories, ProperBritish, and "jus
Latest K-Lite Codec Pack (32-bit only) says it supports 10bit decoding: http://codecguide.com/
I'll give that a shot later on.
EDIT: updater looks like it'll do the 64-bit version too!
EDIT2: 32-bit version fine, 64-bit version crashes when I load a 10-bit video.
