Stuff will probably be just recompiled for PC, similar to how Linux can work on many platforms.
Will depend on the underlying SDK how well this works though.

RE: Windows 8 To Support Xbox 360 Games
Boyfriend's input on all of this:
Me: Oh, some site is reporting that Win 8 will have support to play 360 games. If that's true then that'd be pretty stupid on MS's part. 4:32 PM
Chris: Dunno, haven't heard that. Don't see why that's a bad thing though 4:33 PM
Me: Decrease in 360 system sales maybe? .-. 4:34 PM
Chris: But increase in new windows sales 4:35 PM
Chris: And a larger install base for 360 games, making it the most widespread platform 4:35 PM
Chris: Developers could just make a 360 game and not have to worry about porting 4:36 PM
Me: I guess...this would make pirated games so much easier to play though. 4:37 PM
Chris: Cause, I mean, that already happens, doing this discourages bothering to port to PC, which would mean in the future all PC games are more or less 360 ga 4:38 PM
Chris: mes. That means PC games can't ever possibly run on mac or Linux, and it kinda squeezes out things like steam 4:38 PM
Chris: But most games are already ported to PC anyway. If they did do this id assume it would come with a steam-esque anti pirate service that requires an inte 4:40 PM
Chris: rnet connection 4:40 PM

Kinect, lol I can't think of anything more ridiculous than Kinect on PC.
Kinect on a Toaster?

Zinga Wrote:For people unaware, it really doesn't matter too much if they don't sell Xbox360s any more. Typically consoles (at least in MS/Sony's case) are sold at a loss. They make the money back from games and licensing.
They sell at a loss at the start because new top of the line hardware are expensive (eg. bluray drives when the PS3 just came out, new CPU/GPU), but now after many years they probably won't be selling at a loss anymore.

^ But consequently, prices of consoles go down too.
It's probably not at a loss anymore, but I doubt they're gaining much from it. Again, they earn the money primarily through game sales (why all console manufacturers are interested in keeping their consoles locked down, for example).

RE: Windows 8 To Support Xbox 360 Games
From the top of my head, the 360 only games (actually ported from coin-op arcades) I want to play is Death Smiles and the other Death Smiles game (IIX I think it was called)
