Originally ZB made everyone who joined a mod so everyone could abuse powers for lulz.
however the site gotten bigger and therefore the mod lulz would erm... I dunno?
the people who were made mod but were inactive were made to senior member and the mods that were active still kept mod status.

Also if I'm correct, ZB said something about the most of the mods were/are inexperienced but he believes that they'll become good mods one day.

Interestingly, this is more or less an experiment.  Most people aren't destructive, despite what others may think.  And for those who like to cause chaos, it's typically only due to the fact that power hasn't been given to them.  Once they have power, causing chaos is really no longer that fun.

I'm amused at decisions on other sites for example - they tend to have long debates over whether people should be modded or not.  Yes, for larger and more serious sites, you probably don't want a high percentage of mods, but some arguments used in those debates really make me lol.  This effectively shows that making almost anyone a moderator is not necessarily detrimental to the site.

Although it may seem unfair that people got auto-modded as the site started, it's a truth among most forums.  After all, they survived with and helped bring the site up to what it is now.
Since most people seem to like the current number, I'll keep it as it is.  Regardless, I may play around with people's statuses for the lulz ;)

Ive only been here a short time i don't think there are 2 many mods,i don't think they abuse power they are just like skool milk monitors:) and  to like to help the newer members that can't be a bad thing.

I joined when this site first opened, and was auto-modded.  Then one day, I noticed I wasn't anymore.  

Strange, but I'm still interested in being a MOD here, if you want to give back my Superman "S" Zinga.  LOL  :P
