RE: Should Sony Compensate Us for their Downtime?
Yeah they just bought games.  That's what the bank statement says at least. Nothing else was out of the ordinary.  It doesn't name the title of the game, just "Playstation Notwork Purchase..." and it lists the price.  I can only identify the games I bought based on how much I payed for them.

RE: Should Sony Compensate Us for their Downtime?
Well you know that you only bought 7 and now there is 16. It would seem the hackers are just trying to screw with Sony big time. The amount of work it will take to straighten this out is unreal. That is if they did this to a large number of people.

RE: Should Sony Compensate Us for their Downtime?
I'm sure lots of people will dispute the charges, so you'll probably get refunded for that.
I'm sure there'll also be people who don't realise this (I'm sure there'll be quite a few PS3 gamers who haven't gotten the news) and probably never realise their credit card details were used to buy stuff.  In which case, someone gets away with a few free games...
EDIT: wait, are games tied to your account?  If so, then perhaps it's just screwing with Sony.

God, I feel stupid right now...

I don't know what you mean by, "Are games tied to my account..."

If you mean they only bought games, then yeah.  There were no other electronic drafts that wee didn't know of.

I don't think you can tell yet, but are the games on your PSN account? Or are they on their PSN account by using your cc.

From the hackers point of view, if they buy games using millions of hacked accounts Sony will have to spend a lot of time and money straightening that mess out. Maybe this is another reason why PSN has been down for days. This will hurt Sony in a big way, they will loose trust, customers, and money. That is what this is about, hurting Sony.

double you tee eff?!
Please, please, would these corporations stop using unhashed passwords?!
Practically the only thing that a hacker would need is SSN before he has your full identity.

Yeah especially since most people use the same password for everything...

RE: Should Sony Compensate Us for their Downtime?
I can't tell, since I can't log in.  If they had downloaded the games using my account, then it should still be listed in my Transaction History when PSN gets fixed.

I have a feeling that will take a very long time. Well, I hope you get your money back fast Sick_Demented. I know you will, but I hope it doesn't take a long time.
