Your thoughts on 3D?
Okay, 3D TVs have been out for a while, as well as a number of 3D movies, and 3D gaming has also somewhat been around for some time.
With the recent launch of the 3DS, perhaps there's going to be more focus on mainstream 3D gaming, and possibly 3D photography.
So what is everyone's thought on 3D around here?
Have you tried it? If so, do you find 3D giving you a headache?
How long do you think it'll be around for? Do you think there'll be much more development on the issue (ie glasses-free TVs)?
If you don't have any 3D devices, do you think you'll ever buy one?

RE: Your thoughts on 3D?
When I watched some of the new 3d movies, I thought it was unnecessary and it didn't really change it's impact on the movie. I suppose if they can do it and want to, they can. I don't care either way.

RE: Your thoughts on 3D?
I have tried 3d glasses in a store,. imo not worth putting them on watching a movie,. i had do like them in the cinema :)
I had also asked in my local game store how the 3ds works,. and seems there is 2 screens ontop of each other,. 1 half sending to your left eye,. 1 sending to your right eye,. the vice versa idee of glasses,. i guess,.. so mebbe wee will see real 46" tv's with this,. :) so yeah glass-less tv's

RE: Your thoughts on 3D?
@Vegetano1
I think I mentioned this before in another thread, but it's a bit more difficult to do that with a TV because, with a handheld, most people will be looking at it directly, and won't be too far away. Even so, the 3DS requires you to manually tune the 3D effect to get it right (theoretically, it may be possible to use sensors to detect where your face is and adjust, but there's probably reasons for not doing this) and you have to hold it straight. With a TV, you don't really have these assumptions.
There are TVs which try to do something similar to the 3DS, by projecting many (like 9) different images in different directions, though you still have to sit in a "sweet spot" to get the effect.

RE: Your thoughts on 3D?
I may be telling my age here but, just like in the late 70's to early 80's...3D will fall off.
For Movies - the cost of the glasses are ridiculous for home use and even then it's personal...maybe 2 pair if you're a baller. (IMO)
Games...I think it may have a better route this way. (IMO)
TV - Gimick. That's got to be one hardcore 3D Enthusiast! (IMO)

RE: Your thoughts on 3D?
It has to be quite possibly, the most useless gimmick ever. Especially on movies.
