Guest Wrote:Trying out your ver1.07 on the same problematic Win XP machine I got, will see how it goes and report back later, thanks for the app, mate..!
In previous version 1.05, it works pretty well with a decrypted ver2.5 rco, though.. Technically, is it possible to get it to work on 3.xx rco? that would be great, mate..
Congrats on the 100th post in this thread

RE: RCO Icon Editor v1.07
The new ver1.07 now works real fine on my once problematic Win XP machine, with better error message.. Nice..
It works pretty well as designed but some extracted bmp don't seem to be recognisable in Adobe Photoshop 6. Interestingly, Paint actually manage to open some of these bmp that are unrecognisable in Photoshop.
For those rco with 'deflated header', if the decompression fails to complete (for whatever reason), then an error message will be displayed, and the rco will go disappear (leaving only a copy of the backup). If decompression is successful, however, but no icon is found, then a message will be displayed with both the rco and a copy of the backup saved.

3.xx? Dunno how the PSP decrypts them. If it's something that you need the PSP's key for, then it's not possible via a program on the PC.
From what it seems, it is decrypted via the PSP...

Hehe, thanks for the notification - I'm seriously too lazy to update that webpage - I'll just link to this thread instead :)
Again, thanks :)

RE: RCO Icon Editor v1.07
ZiNgA BuRgA Wrote:So, you may know about editing the topmenu_plugin.rco file to change your XMB icons, eh? But, did you know that other RCO files also contain ("lesser important") icons?
Basically, this program aims to be a generic RCO editor. This is a experimental and incomplete release, but it should be able to let you change most of the PSP's icons :)
NOTES:- Being experimental, this MAY create corrupt RCOs - ALWAYS keep a backup, and make sure you know how to recover from a brick (ie use recovery mode)
- I'm too lazy to implement much validation in this release, so it's a bit unstable
- ONLY use DECRYPTED RCOs (get them from the FW2.50 dump)
- It seems that it WILL work on 3.10 OE! However, it seems that topmenu_plugin.rco customizations will not work, but changing other RCOs seem to work.
Here's an example of the battery icon replaced in system_plugin_fg.rco:
You can get the the custom system_plugin_fg.rco here.
Also, now, thanks to undertaxxx, here's actually some nice looking batteries :) Get them here
Another example is that the coldboot/gameboot branding can also be changed! :D
You can get the the custom opening_plugin.rco here.
Okay, that out of the way:
Download Here (77KB)
Mirrors: Filefront | Sendspace | Mediafire
You have insert extract ALL well do you
CAN IMPLEMETS THE BUTTON REPLACE ALL OR SELECT FUNCTION????

Longer Labels would be cool.
It should also make the forums a bit more popular.
