Halp please
apparently i have some sort of virus that my NOD 32 isn't picking up, and spybot and adaware miss, but my processes in windows task manager show an IEXPLORE.EXE running a whole chocolateload of mem usage (115000K!). ending the process does nothing, a new one starts.

what do i do? <shrug>

RE: Halp please
ok, ran avg and found a few things, but it hasn't stopped the hefty internet explorer process, so im going to try kaspersky next.

RE: Halp please
i had that the other day - avast home still won't pick it up but avg did.
before i installed avg i had to find a way to remove it manually.
so for future reference:
start/run msconfig.exe - locate unknown programs and browse to the location of those files - see if there in unusual locations (mines was installed in windows/system32/drivers and was called svchost.exe - the same as the legit process but this is the wrong path for that file). next try renaming it - if it doesn't allow it that means its running and is probably it. i used a freeware program called unlocker which basically detaches the process from explorer so you can terminate it (works for files you can't delete etc.). the readme will tell you how to activate it (delete a file that's running and after the error it comes up).  sometimes it doesn't get the process first time so try it twice. once unlocker pops up and you have unlocked explorer.exe process using it you can terminate the virus in device manager and delete the source file.
whew.
hope this is understandable and usefull :P

Always remember - Google is your friend :)
