I like this idea.

It's the SteelSeries Merc and costs $40. OK, no mini LCD but do you really need that?
that keyboard looks godawful to use

backlit keys, macro programmability, special WASD pad with gaming keys near, media buttons and profiles which you can store for different occasions.
i really don't know why people drop so much on keyboards. mice i can kind of understand because of the precision better ones can offer. but keyboards not so much.
check that out

if it was cheaper, trust me I wouldn't hesitate. But it's just way too expensive for what it is, IMO.

Note that 'best' right now is a short term descriptive word. Best fps last year was mw2 and sequel and plenty of as good alternatives is already in the pipe.
Even if you don't like the new ones, the old ones will be cheaper then. So for all iknow, buy the one closest to your need. Don't really need excessive functions

they have buttons on them
they work
i would recommend them.
That.
Just use the mouse / keyboard you already have.

Being good at gaming is a ton of practice mixed with a bit of strategizing (or a lot, depending on the game). Or if you're the MMO type of gamer... just a lot of time spent grinding.
Anyone who thinks being good at gaming = expensive keyboard and mouse, obviously sucks at gaming.
