Windows 7 or Windows Vista
Alright essentially my dad can get windows 7 through his work for 29 dollars super cheap. I love vista and I currently run it. I have never had a problem with it, and I'm perfectly fine with how it is. He wants to know if I want Windows 7.

So I guess just quickly simply do you run Vista or Windows 7. Which do you prefer more? Why do you prefer it? Is it honestly worth switching to? What are some bonus features of Windows 7?

RE: Windows 7 or Windows Vista
Faster, easy to use, customizable, less UAC (just disable it), hardly any virus(haven't encountered one) and just better than the memory hog vista. :\

RE: Windows 7 or Windows Vista
7 is better.  Installed it over vista on my laptop that came stock with vista, it ran a lot sweeter. A few changes to get acclimatized to, but they can be negated with settings or themes.

RE: Windows 7 or Windows Vista
I prefer 7 all the way. Don't have to run into all this administrator poo poo, and lousy compatibility with Vista.  It was also a bit nasty on less than optimal systems.Windows 7 has fixed most of that, and made everything quite intuitive, while at the same time, allowing you to take control exactly as you need it, depending on the circumstances. Had to work on a pc with vista a day ago, and just the amount of poo poo it was giving me was the annoying part. I knew what I had to do to fix the problem, but vista was refusing to cooperate. I do XP and 7 only now. 7 also allows for quite a lot of dumbed down parts, like diagnosing an internet connection, which fixes it prob 90% of the time. I'm really all around happy with 7. So glad I got it.

Sevvaarn.

I'm converted from XP. My laptop came with Vista pre installed. It lasted all of an hour and a half before it broke and I stuck XP on top of it.
