possible overheating
So my pc for a while likes to randomly shut off, with no warning etc.
Pretty sure its down to overheating, Despite having a pretty big fan on the front which blows out air, and one on the side panel, and the psu, and a big cpu heatsink/fan etc etc.

My ram's pretty shoddy because a couple of sticks died, leaving me down to only 2GB,

So what I'm thinking is grabbing another 2GB of ram, and a couple of extra case fans, but I'm still not sure this will solve the problem, anyone got any ideas?

It won't be the case fans, but the CPU heatsink/fan instead.

RE: possible overheating
well that's what i thought it was, but I've already replaced that because one of the clips was broken, and the new one's pretty decent... :/

RE: possible overheating
does it just shut off completely dead with no warning? or does it freeze with a picture still displaying?

if it just shuts off completely point blank it may be your PSU crapping out.

Happened to me too.

Mine blew up (loud pop) and died.  That was a really shitty no-brand 560W (that's a lie, my current 460W works flawlessly) PSU carried over from my old computer though.

RE: possible overheating
used to get blue screens every now and again, but the pc would restart itself too quick for me to read, even with 'don't restart on system failure' checked. What am i supposed to do if it is the PSU?
