Mozilla Thunderbird, "Webmail" addon Setup
I've had Thunderbird for a while now, and setup for my Gmail account. but recently after searching Google if i could have my Hotmail account in Thunderbird, i was pleasantly surprised to find that i could by using the "WebMail" Addon aswell with the "Hotmail" addon to the Webmail addon. I've tried setting my Hotmail up and it has been setup successfully....i think. but everytime i try to retrieve my mail, it never does, it just hangs on "downloading message 1/280" or something like that. i think it has to do with my settings. has anyone who has used this or even hasn't yet, and knows how to configure it, could you please help me.
I've searched google and i have no results for the exact settings i need for this to work i.e. the port numbers, security settings, outgoing server settings etc. so again, can anyone help?
thanks :D

RE: Mozilla Thunderbird, Webmail Setup
Hotmail on Thunderbird?  Wow, never thought that was possible.
Sorry to go off-topic, but I'd probably suggest Outlook or just your browser for Hotmail.  Dealing with HTTP in an email client isn't that worth it IMO.  (Hotmail sucks for not offering POP3/IMAP support)

I never thought it was possible either. I have tried outlook but i haven't been successful, do you mind pointing me in the direction of how to setup Hotmail in Outlook? (by the way i have both Outlook Express & Outlook 2003) i use firefox all the time to check my mail, and i just though after seeing that i could, that this would be way easier because all i do is open thunderbird and my messages are there, and incase firefox was stuffing up :D

Well, for Outlook, it's a while since I tried, but you need to select HTTP from the type of connection.  Then select Hotmail.  It should do the rest for you.  Dunno if it's different for Outlook Express.

don't worry about it anymore, just found out that you have to have a premium hotmail account (one that you pay for) for it to work in Outlook, but apparently with that addon that i mentioned above for Thunderbird, you can access it even with a free account

I did Hotmail with a non-premium account, a long time ago.  Maybe they changed it.

I'll checkout the plugin.

6MB is a lot :O  ...for me at least.

Yeah, that does say a lot about my connection, eh?
