i still buy anime dvd's, unless a blu-ray version exists.
but on movies, blu-ray all the way. i can just skip all the way to main menu with the "top menu" button on the remote control XD

@andrewcc. no, infact, as assassinator pointed out. some of the DVD have even worse quality.

also one more problem with the DVDs: can you really stand the ugly enlarged(pixels show up) massive giant green/random color font they use for subs? and outta all that, they placed them ON the pictures, while there's two massive black bar at the top and bottom of the screen.
WHYYY?!?!?

if i want a DVD, i make it myself with extracted fansub, and make a menu for myself. along with a careful overnight conversion. plus printed cover, CD scan and everything. (Rukia also does this lol)

only done that with the old haruhi. can't stand the effing green font they used in the iso >_>, haven't really bothered to do any other series.

Yeah those thing are really annoying , in total i have like 24 DVDs and i like the cover and all , but its not the way it should be.
The industry are making us fools and then they say don't pirate ... how ?

Download movie » you use up your bandwidth, otherwise no-one (apart from the uploader/server) really loses anything.

I don't know about Blu-ray - I don't have one, and I don't expect to any time in the near future. They command a price premium to DVDs, as well as more expensive hardware, and requiring a recent TV for it to really be useful at all. DVDs are still the mass medium. Blu-ray may take a while to take over the way I see it.

Forge fake money » you pay some material and operational costs, but that is easily covered by the "profit" you make. And noone else looses anything at all (you may cause a 0.000001% inflation, but absolutely noone can feel that). You gain, noone looses... a win-win situation?
