At least it has a real desktop interface, is not so 4:3ish like iPad (that black border just makes it sadder) And I heard it even has a USB port
iPad isn't a stand-alone computer, depends on your computer to work (just like an iPod)
but this seems to be a promising stand alone thing... (well you could also use your computer to synchronize stuff, but at least there is more freedom in what you can do, and not being limited to the apple springboard menu)
The only thing I am worried about is that HP didnt told anything about prices, nor storage, nor any other features...
Lets hope they don't screw up HP Slate, they have clearly an advantage over Apple in this tablet thing (When I heard the prices of iPads I was quite amazed, starting at 499, 599 and 699, but double you tee eff the 130 extra for 3g model really blowed it up...)
well, they said it would be below $1500, that's a start i guess
