It was sadly lacking in both areas that this anime are all about..
Be it its Slice-of-Life/Comedy or Music aspects, just like the series only much more obvious, it seems nor-here-nor-there.
I mean, I was hoping for an episode called Live House wee'd get to see at least one full song of them performing. (My Love is a Stapler is my favorite :P)
But they only showed bits, again, of Fuwa Fuwa Time, again.
And if they WEREN'T going to do something full on music, why not do more comedy focused? It just didn't happen.
While this is my main complaint; awkwardly this is how K-ON worked, and I think with Kyoto Animation backing it, just about worked. The expressions, voice direction and sound was all top-notch, and its these qualities that saved it from being forgettable.
Sticking with my series I give the OVA a solid 8.
Maybe they will be able to crack the formula and make Season 2 get a 9.
Edit: Also, having this been the second time I've seen K-ON, I can confidently say it was great to see it again from beginning to end. Really enjoyed it.
=.= ummm... ok, from what I've read. the jokes is all the same type. the girls care for each other in the club and gently makes jokes. fuwa fuwa ish.
if you know what i mean.
and the manga didn't have any song, so no comment whether there'll be a new song or not.
