It did it automatically...I just got Studio setup and I'm adding the rest of the packages...I have yet to go through the settings but it should be set to the US mirror.

Just look up how to change the mirrors manually.

I'm in Spain but downloading packages with yum I had speeds around 10kb/s..... changed to Germany and it went blazing.
