back on topic momentarily. yea they do ban for any fan replacements with non-stock fans, and any other modification coming off of the 12V point. as far as wee know, that is the only one with a voltage monitor on it. the reason they won't ban for replacing with a new stock fan is that it will draw the same power as the one before it, making it undetectable.
This is because of the terms and conditions. The console is only authorised to go on XBL and play any games if the hardware configuration is the one set out by microsoft. This means that any modification whatsoever is changing the hardware config, meaning they have the full right to ban the console from XBL, and if they could... disable the disc drive.

I own both, had the 360 first, had an amazing time on it with my friends on live, bought a ps3, got bored of my 360, played on my ps3 for ages, got bored of my ps3 (online community does not compare) and I'm now back to playing on my 360, but i still use my ps3 for RB and a media centre

so in my opinion, the 360, i don't care if you disagree with this, this is my opinion

I don't own either, and I was very tempted toward a 360 - Until the PS3 Slim came out, dropped price, got lighter, and the PS3s exclusives are just a can't-miss for me.. 360 generally can't match it now HOWEVER theres no doubt it has the better Online Gaming system (XBOX LIVE)
