[How-to] Mount an FTP folder in windows
Ever wanted your website FTP folder to be accessible in explorer as a network drive? Tried it with windows, but it doesn't work? This simple utility allows you to mount unlimited FTP servers to a X: drive in windows

  1. Get FTPDrive 3.3
  2. Install it and open the program, then go to the icon on the taskbar
  3. On the right side of the 'General' tab, uncheck the two boxes regarding NetView.
  4. Click the 'Edit servers list manually' button
  5. There are probably already one or two sites programmed in, just delete those. Then fill in the info for your FTP server on the right side, and click Add Server
  6. Click OK to go back to the other settings window. Check 'Autostart with windows' to make sure its always there. Fill in the drive letter you prefer.
  7. Go to the Advanced tab. You don't need to edit anything here, but I unchecked 'Enable files data caching'. You should also uncheck 'Enable directory structure caching if you are also still using a different FTP client to access this server.
  8. Click OK to close the settings window.
  9. Go to My Computer, you should see your drive letter as a 'Disconnected network disk'. Double click it to see if it works, and then go back and rename it to something. I called mine 'FTP'.
  10. Finished!

FTP is used to put pages on your website, and in my case my school uses it so i can access my school's network folder from home. If you havea  website, you also put the files on it using FTP

FTP » easier to upload, plus uploading/downloading is theoretically faster (less overhead than HTTP).

You can download from FTP through HTTP though.

Setting up your own FTP server is like setting up your computer, so you can download files from your computer onto another computer (basically saves you uploading the files elsewhere).

You can also upload to your own computer from somewhere else.
Double post
But that's not what this is, this is just an FTP client that integrates with windows explorer.
