I sat in deep thought, feeling melancholy take me
In surety it crept up, feeling for my soul and holding onto me
so tightly...
I felt a deep slumber, so tired, at unease and lonely
As I closed my eyes, a tear dripped, running down my cheek quietly
"What is this feeling?" I asked myself, lost for the sake of any word
"What is this sadness?" I wondered, unable to heal from an unknown hurt
I hear broken rhythms sounding afar, from where I cannot say
I hear a soft whisper, an unfinished melody resounds from within me, yet so so far away.
"Why?" I ask the music, "Why are you here, and yet not?"
And though the music says nothing, I can still hear its melancholic thought
And so I wonder, alone, tired and distraught
"What is this feeling that I feel... and yet I feel not..."
