Better than AVG
I've had AVG anti virus for quite awhile now, and relied on it's virus blocking software for
about2 years ,  although recently, floods of trojan viruses have been attacking my comp non stop, and they usually appear as I open firefox... , and oh yeah my bro got his World of Warcraft account hacked  tsk tsk tsk. ( not my problem, although I'm still worried about the key logger software that might be implemented on my PC)

to put it simply, does anyone have advice on:

1. Better antiviruses/ Spyware/ Adware

2. How to kill, this stupid firefox trojan virus ( I tried reinstaling, and installing, nothing)

3. how to stop key loggers?

Helpfull advice IS GREATLY appreciated!!Madwin

RE: Better than AVG
Trojans are a bugger, unless you know the trojan you've got, and a specific fix tool you might have trouble getting rid of it

May i recommend, on the trojan front at least

Hijack this Log On that sitre you can both download HJT, and paste your log file in for analysis

Also get Spybot Search and Destroy, and Adaware 2008, both are free and good for diagnosing and killing spyware, including trojans (although, as i said before to truly remove it you may need a dedicated remover

Try Avira, although i personally use Nod 32 ive heard good things about Avira. Get Zone Alarm Personal to protect yourself in the future, and, failing all else, back up important files and reinstall windows

RE: Better than AVG
Use SUPERantispyware to get rid of the most straining Malware. It works a lot better than Ad-Aware & Spybot, but scanning with all 3 is recommended.

Using Avast! is recommended as a free option, but if you REALLY want to be protected, spend some money on getting ESET NOD32, or if you want nothing to worry about, the ESET Security Suite.

- Antivirus will deal with Viruses, Trojans & Worms
- Antispyware/Antimalware will deal with Adware, Spyware, Keyloggers, and other misc. Malware

Also, making sure you set your Internet Settings appropriate to your usage is your best protection.

Make sure all of your Internet-connected software is Up-to-date as well.

Good Luck.

RE: Better than AVG
I use adaware 07, avg, spybot S&D, counterspy, and hijackthis for when I just can't get rid of something, and I'll post the logs.

RE: Better than AVG
one thing I don't like about mcafee and symantec is the sheer amount of files they leave on uninstallation. especially the corporate editions... for office, wee use Trend Micro OfficeScan.

for home, refer to Sensei's post.
