does that take into account films that are around three hours? because if it does i am getting that spoon...... i could save a fudgeload of space on my psp
Well I just encoded Harold and Kumar get the Munchies in high quality and it went from 721mb to 247mb!!!! And that isn't even at optimum settings!!!

RE: Optimum Xvi4PSP encoding??
well, personally if you are getting that kind of filesize with acceptable quality (remember, different people have different standards) i would stick with those settings, that's reasonable size for a full length movie

andrewcc Wrote:with scarface ripped to low mpeg4 quality it has come to around 744 mb
ouch.. i can get an hour and a half movie down to about 300mb and you can barely tell its not the dvd... in fact i ripped and encoded 'super high me' to waych on a plane ride i had to take and the whole movie is 211mb and its exactly an hour and a half
if your not worried about how long it takes to encode you can get better quality @ smaller sizes
xvid4psp
PSP AVC
constant quantizer 23-26 [depending on the movie] 7-high, exhaustive search, b-frames 5, tick b-pyramid
acc he 96kbps abr [cause youll have headphone or the psp speaker so ya don't need super sound]
and if its a dvd source, the best deinterlacer it has is ivtc, 23.976fps.. you can edit the script it uses to get better settings out of the deinterlacer but that requires knowledge on how to write avs scripts
