I was looking for good deals on Macs today for my mom and myself, and I came across this website called Mac Mall. Basically, it's a 3rd party retailer that sells Apple computers at EXTREMELY good prices. They also sell other Apple stuff, and some video game stuff, all discounted.

I was looking for an iMac for my mom, and found that they have pretty decent savings (~$60 on all models). I decided to check out the Macbook Pro for myself, and honestly, you won't find any better anywhere else. The discounts go up to $200. Plus all of their computers come with free shipping, and ~$400 of bundled software and accessories, including a printer.

I know a bunch of people on here hate Apple stuff, but for those that don't definitely give this website a look, as they have the best deals I've found.

If you REALY want a deal...contact apple directly and tell them you are a student!  

There is no way to get a lower price from anywhere!!!

*edit* i truely hate the mac...if theyre so easy to use, why do the people who INSIST on having a mac constantly call me up with questions and problems???

And why can't apple be like PC and use the fastest cpu in their computers?  All of the intel chips have been many models slower than the currently fastest PC compatable chips!!

I just built a hackintosh for around $1400 at work to run Final Cut Server...quad core 2.4ghz, 8gb ddr2 6400 ram, asus motherboard running a 1066mhz FSB, 2x80gb drives in raid0, geforce 8800gtx.  xbench scored a 196...the fastest video editing mac wee have in house scored a 130 and cost more than thrice what I built mine for!!

If i were you, Id not waste the money on the mac and instead build a 100% compatable hackintosh...unless you need to have that big apple logo on the side of your case cause that is definitely part of the price increase!

I'm guessing you mean Psystar, and HELL NO. Those guys have violated like 5 copyright laws so far, their version of OSx86 can't download patches, and overall it just sucks hard.

It's not emulation, it runs natively on the hardware.

1. Those are the Mac fags you have to deal with.  I hate those kinds of people too. People like me aren't idiots about computers and can do our own simple problem solving.

2. I honestly don't give a flying fuck about the tower Mac Pro. I'm looking for a laptop, and my mom needs a new iMac (the all-in-one). For those two, if you price it out, you are actually getting a very good deal. There are very few laptops I've found that can match the MBP's power, storage, memory, size, and cost. And as for the AIO computers, the iMac is one of the best deals. The comparable Dell and HP AIO PC's actually cost more for similar deals.

3. As for the tower/Mac Pro/Mac server thing, I couldn't agree more. The main draw of Apple's other computers is the size versus power. If you're gonna have a tower taking up space anyway, just build your own and install OSx86 on it yourself. Oh, and Apple's Cinema Displays are over-priced pieces of shit.
