RE: Making themes on 3.71 M33-3
Its no that easy,..
My topmenu_icon,rco is now 525kb if i add one more icon the wetwork icon's disapear,..

the xmb uses a certain amount of ram so if you use icon's with large resolution some icon's might disapear,.. if you want i could check your topmenu_icon.rco or post a screenshot,..

ok try this go into options in rcoedit and check the box for "Don't compress image and models (for some 3.7+RCOs)"

i use this option only with topmenu _icon.rco !1

also check "prompt before amking 32 GIMs" and just click yes whenever RCOedit prompts you,..

To do this first extract all icon's into a folder then set the above settings in options then use "replace multiple" if icon's get srewed start with a fresh rco and add your icon's 1 one by 1 when added 2 or 3 icon's test if these are visible then add all,..

RE: Making themes on 3.71 M33-3
OH. BE SCARED OF A BRICK. PLEASE BE SCARED. I tried to use a custom impose_plugin.prx (not related to your task), found it didnt work, put the original back, found it STILL DIDN'T WORK. OK, reflash time. Tried to run The 3.71 flash tool... "No need to update - your PSP is on FW 3.71". DAMNIT. OK, so i ran the 3.52 M33 update instead from Recovery cause 3.71 can't be run from recov cause it HAS to be in the UPDATE folder grrrr. Anyway now its a full-flat paperweight and iv been waiting for a card-reader for 5 days so i can make a magic memory stick cause i only have one PSP (already made pandora battery with a hardmod).

Anyway, i think you can compress SOME topemnu_icon graphics... the main 6 icons definately not though. And i disagree with the 32-bit GIM stuff - ALWAYS dither your graphics to <256 colours (i use 240 or less sometimes cause it doesn't work if you chose higher number for some reason) because 32-bit GIM's are HUGE! Don't say YES OR NO, instead QUIT out and lower the colours in photoshop by a few and try again! 32-bit GIM's are huge man srsly... 256 is the way to go and who cares if they have less colours (unless u want photo-realistic icons.....)

I never mess with impose.prx,.. ;)
Was risky on 3.52m33 too!

I dunno about some icon's in topmenu_icon.rco,.. its the only rco i don't load with compressed icon's and i don't compress,.

Also you are right just take the pic's to indexed color and set to 256 colors unless you want really good looking infobars or other large pics,.. like my sonic theme main icons,.

Some times extracting and then replacing witht he same icon in the topmenu_icon.rco makes the rco bigger,.!?! dunno why,.!?
Do i have to do a new indexed color,.!? no,.. becuase i tried witth the original icon and still makes it bigger,.!? maybe i changed some rcoedit settings i don't know off,.!?
