RE: Samsung SsD Prices
Well, there were several listings, and I just picked the first ones I saw. Those are looking much better now. Also, amazon prime tends to throw a stick in the mud for things like this every once in a while, so that may have been the issue also.
Oh, sometimes the calculator app on my phone ignores (IGNORE, Not misses, it's infuriating) my button clicks, so that had to be the issue, because that 1tb drive is definitely not 2000 dollars.

RE: Samsung SsD Prices
Wee have recently (about 6 months ago) standardized in SSD in all of our new Windows laptops and desktops (or any computer that gets rebuilt due to problems) So far wee have 700-1000 systems using Samsung 840 pros (I don't deal with the Windows systems anymore). These computers are never turned off and run a 1200 image slide show after 15 minutes of inactivity (whether they are logged in or not) Wee have not had one fail.
With that, over a year ago I standardized all of our Mac Pro with dual Samsung 840 pros mirrored and Mac Minis with a single 840 pro (that's 90 computers). These computers are never turned off and are used 10-12 hours a day doing InDesign, Photoshop or MS Word. Wee have not had one fail.

RE: Samsung SsD Prices
In work, tower desktops are being replaced with mini-ITX-looking Lenovo machines with SSDs. Quite telling..
