FATmsMod
I don't think flashing anything on a TA-88v3 is a good idea. I still want the FATMSmod from 5.00 to work so is there any way to get it working?

It came to my mind that maybe PRX launcher could do the job, but I have no idea how it works, if it's plugins only, if it'll work while playing games etc.

Here are some nice icon/smilies to look at while replying.

RE: FATmsMod
Well I can say that I flashed it to my PSP 2000 with 5.50 GEN-D2, and it has made a very noticeable difference with some of my games.

But flashing to a 3000?   I would not suggest that.
I don't even think that building a .ctf would work for a 3000, as there are files in flash that must be patched, along with flashing to make it work.      :(

Schmilk just bought a PSP 3000, so he would know more about this question than I would..

RE: FATmsMod
I don't know much about flashing 3000 models but if you want to speed up the MS, you could try what some do and what I have done. I'm on 5.50GEN D2 and used the some of the prx files from 5.00m33-6 to get the speed up MS access. So in other words, you would have a 5.00m33-6 recovery menu and VSH menu but still on 5.50GEN firmware. It actually works. I noticed that my games run faster.

I have tried that.  And it gives NO noticeable speed up difference.   Sadist

All it gives you is a M33 recovery and vsh menu.  (Which would mean you are losing features)  The MS Speed Up option will toggle on and off, but make no difference.  There must be more to it than just those two .prx to make it work...

Sorry, Don't know how I overlooked that.  You are on 5.03 GEN-B correct?
Sadly, for the purpose of this topic, you might as well have a 3000    :(
Everything I have read around the internet suggests flashing a TA-088v3 or 3000 = Brick.

I'm not saying it is impossible to pull off flashing FatmsMOD to your unit, but I would not try it.   If something went wrong, you could not Pandora back to safety.

I would also say that I fear the worst, because fatmsMOD alters your boot order - which would be dangerous to the tenth power   :p

My verdict would be a no go on this one    :(

Ok. Thanks for the info though. rep for all you who replied :)

The thing I just don't understand is why PRX launcher wouldn't be able to launch it while in-game.

There's an idea I didn't think of.   Try loading the prx as a plugin.
It's worth a shot. Maybe PRX Launcher would work (I have never tried it)

If not, you could throw a simple lua script together to load the prx at program boot, and then make a simple file browser to search for/launch your homebrew/iso.   ;)

nah, I don't have any LUA coding capability at all.

I'll try though. Try to launch the PRX :D
