It's good enough. I was actually first looking at the digital XT! then I could not find one for a decent price so I got my XSi.

You can look at your Nikons but I don't know which is good and whatnots. . . I have heard though that the d70 is great.

Actually, I would get a Nikon, if they didn't regularly cost $100+ more than equally as good Canon cameras.

:D!

And when I am looking for lenses for my canon it's so easy as there are just 2 kinds of mounts now for canon and my camera can take both :D

Yup lol. Just to be sure, do the XT and XTi both work with both kinds of mounts?

And I plan on getting an adaptor ring for Nikon lenses so I can borrow some of my friend's old ones :D

RE: I got an SLR camera
Well I have heard many good things of the d40. I just have never even seen one IRL.

And you want THIS I want an adapter for m42 lenses. . . And I am assuming that this like majority of the adapters you can buy, will not enable autofocus. So you have to manual focus.

And after making a quick check to amazon I am also going to say that yes the XT and the XTi both can accept EF-S and EF lenses.

All canon dSLRs can accept EF lenses. And I am assuming these can accept EF-S lenses because the kit lens bundles with it, even in reviews say that the 18-55mm kit lens, is an EF-S mount lens.

to be honest, I mostly like manual focus anyway. It lets me get everything just right. And I've decided that the auto dust-cleaner thing and 2 MP isn't worth another $200, so I'm just gonna get the XT body and a lens. It also means I can buy it sooner, due to the lower price.

You know, getting this SLR camera has seriously inspired me to be serious about photography. I'm even considering it for a job option sometime in the near future, as something I can do during college. Some smaller photo jobs are opening up in my area, so I'm looking into them :)

RE: I got an SLR camera
Just don't get a job in one of those 'take my id picture' places. You learn nothing.

Also You HAVE TO OWN (I still need money for it) the canon 50mm f/1.8 Just read the reviews and even if you break it, IT'S AN $80 lens!
It's dust cheap and it has real great image quality.

My aunt has the XT, she loves it but I think she wants to upgrade to the XSi like me but IMO she should be investing in better lenses instead of her 28-135 that gets a lot of bad reviews for not being a good lens.
Also remember the screen size, I just love my 3 inch screen, it's great for reviewing images. I think it's the biggest screen in the canon dSLR line-up.
