anyone willing to help?
me and pspkiller (mainly pspkiller) have found that there is a hidden drive on our school network which stores all the preferences and wallpapers..... does anybody have any clue about accessing hidden network drives because something like this could be helpful.....

It's probably more difficult than you think.  You'll need to gain write access (read access is always given) to the files to do the changes.  You could try something simpler, for example, installing a program on as many computers as you can, which will switch wallpapers, but that does require you to try to do it on every computer (remote execution could help).

RE: anyone willing to help?
If its anything like our computers it will be really complicated.
Our computers delete all session data immediately after your log out. If the wallpaper was changed or if any programs were added anywhere other than your folder they are removed and the entire computer gets "reset". It also gets anoying because apparently they didn't open up IE after they updated because it always gives that Google toolbar was recently installed message.

Have you tried right click and map network drive? Wee have a bunch of shortcuts on our computers that do this so wee can access different drives

^ You sure they delete the session data, or just reset the wallpaper?  Deleting all session data includes stuff like Word preferences.

RE: anyone willing to help?
with us all session data is deleted. i was messing about with autocorrect in word so it would replace innocent words with nasty ones but the changes would all be lost as soon as i logged off.

the plan isn't to put a new wallpaper file somewhere and get every computer to load that file instead. the plan is to replace the current wallpaper file so the settings on every computer are still valid and don't have to be changed. i hope that makes sense.
