PSAFE V3.1 Anti theft for PSP
In a response to a flurry of e-mails about PSAFE crashes since the last update, homebrew developer TRStealthX responded by releasing PSAFE v3.1. This update basically patches some bugs that the developer found in the application, and also addresses two major security flaws present in the web client code - flaws which allowed anyone to change your IP or view your log.

For those of you who may not be familiar with TRStealthX's brainchild, PSAFE is an anti-theft homebrew application for the Sony PSP, similar in premise to realn0whereman's ATPSP. It basically allows you to track the whereabouts of your handheld. If ever a thief should 'borrow' your PSP, the program will send you an e-mail along with the thief's IP address.

Also,  the details of the upcoming PSAFE v4.0 are all in the application's readme file. So be sure to check that out for more information, as well as the forum thread for a discussion on this app.

I know, I didn't really understand it too much myself, but it looks like it would help for something. . . .IDK

RE: PSAFE V3 Anti theft for PSP
basically what it does is if your psp gets 'borrowed'
and the thief plugs it into his pc it sends you his ip and a connection log meaning it can be tracked by the police

RE: PSAFE V3 Anti theft for PSP
Its good but there are some things that are pointless and dangerous because:

1. What if they recognize the app and delete it straight away; or even just format the memory stick straight away? < mybad for not reading the post properly....
2. If it does track down the PSP and you notify the police, what if the police find out that you actually have isos or some illegal program on your PSP that link back to your PC?

Otherwise it is a very useful app.....
