hehe  thanks for the rep.  anybody have an amilo pro laptop 2040?  these kind of laptop don't support  any other windows than the one that comes with it.  

i have a stupid adware installed right now.   planning to format but i want to install a very light windows on it but it doesn't support any other windows.  google's not helping me.  :(  anybody has a laptop from fujitsu and knows how to bypass this problem?

is that a tablet PC? because those are the ones that require a different OS in my knowledge.

I just googled and I just read of people using ubuntu 7.10 on it just fine.

are you sure it it won't support any other windows? or can't handle it?

The Amilo Pro 2040 will work with standard windows disks, the problem is the hardware requires it's own drivers on floppies during install time. Probably why so many people with that lappy follow the way of the Penguin and put Ubuntu on it.

hmmm...ubuntu.  there..  i heard of it on psxhaven.  i never tried it.  I'll try the ubuntu maybe.

i found that the actual driver is Sata driver.  when i use any other windows it just doesn't know that my laptop has a hdd.  i remember when i tried it said missing hardware or something.

anybody heard of tiny XP?  when you first install it it runs only 13 processes on full boot.  i wanted to install that but i need to find a way to put the drivers on th cd and hope it boots and installs it.

Edit:- i read on ubuntu...and they say that a lot of things are incompatible with it yet.  :( i don't just only browse the internet with my laptop.  i play games and do stuffs like editing.   i don't know if ubuntu will be quite safe for me to use...
