Voice overs aren't that bad.

Death Note being on Adult Swim came out of nowhere.
Where were the TV spots?

Cable TV = Biggest waste of money. (sry, just can't resist that).

Meh, i actually prefer dubs generally, as long as they're proper dubs, and not the heavily edited poo poo like 4kids. (i get the dubded versions for free from the local library). Reasons being that reading subs all the time means u don't get to look at the graphics as much, u find urself reading words most of the time, and sometimes it goes too fast, and u have to rewind and stuff, which is quite annoying. Hell, dubs let u sit back and enjoy. subs u have to constantly read nonstop to keep up with.

RE: death note on adult swim
episode 1 aired last night.. and yeah it came out of nowhere.. i havent seen any commercials for it and it replaced bleachs time slot....  i didnt watch bleach on AS and i doubt ill watch death note either as i already have the series on a dvd...  i watched blood+ though and the boondocks is so funny.. i don't watch the anime on AS alot anymore.. just download it lol

idk though im just funny.. id rather get it off the net and watch subs rather than dubs.. in my exp. most dubs are horrible ( there are exceptions like YYH and Lain and Eva wasent that bad either ) but then you got dubs like love hina that make me want to puke and naruto ( i just don't like naruto himself ).. the first ep. of death note wasn't that bad as far a voice overs go.  hearing his name said as light instead of raito (engrish lol) is weird but not too bad..
and cable = a waste???  what??  better than sattelite.. sat. has lag, and when your dish fills up with snow like where i live its useless.. bad rain will mess with it too...

Most people prefer subs actually, so you're not weird. But that preferrence is not solely due to quality of subs and dubs. Lots of people like subs cause their faster on release, and are more easily available for free.

I've seen some Naruto dubs... yes i have to agree with u they are quite horrible.

To me, most of them seem alright. occasionally, there's a really bad one, like naruto.

I mean paid cable TV services like FoxTel and stuff where u have to pay like $20 a month. Not worth it. They just repeat poo poo over and over again, and have like 3 minutes of ads every 10 minutes of show.

Also, if u really look at it the money side, it's far cheaper probably (if u live in a place with good internet connection) to even just download all the stuff u want to watch.

(Meh, maybe I'm just weird.)

well i mostly like subs cause its more of the pure form so to speak.. seems like most of the seiyuu (voice actors) put alot more effort into making it then the english counter parts.... theres always exceptions.. like i think YYH is better in english... but your native language is better if you want to watch and pay attention to the screen rather then reading but ive been watching anime so long that im used to it and can do both lol.. not only that but i watch regular japanese tv...

looking at from that stand point cable is a waste.. nowadays you can download any episode of any show on so yeah lol but in my case i have cable internet so i get cable tv along with it.... they do have 3 minutes of commercials every ten minutes.. i timed it and that's about average.. cept MTV.. they more ads then anyone... adult swim is cool cause they show one block of commercials during each show... sure they are like 5 minutes a piece but theres only one set
