They went 3D on the series for N64's Donkey Kong 64, and I thought the game was a disaster.  
In my humble opinion, sticking to the roots might be the best thing for DK.

Aired around 2000 over here for me and I loved it back then, however nowadays, I looked back at it through a channel that shows a lot of old obscure shows and I thought it was just... O_o
