Opting out of Social Security
http://ssa-custhelp.ssa.gov/app/answers/...-security.
Quote:Can I opt out of Social Security? Can I withdraw taxes that I have paid for Social Security coverage? No. Social Security coverage is mandatory. But consider this: unlike your private plan, Social Security provides disability and survivors coverage in addition to retirement benefits. And Social Security generally offers greater protection for family members than private pensions.
The law also does not permit a refund of Social Security taxes. The authority for the collection of taxes, including Social Security taxes, is found in the Internal Revenue Code, not the Social Security Act. (See sections 3101(a) and 3102(a) of the Code.) Wee suggest that you direct any questions you may have about tax liability to that Agency for consideration.
Spoon like that is why I hate this country...
I don't want to pay my hard earned money to support your chocolatety system that is failing. I find it a little annoying that everyone else in the world seems to have so much control over my money and how much of it is actually mine.

That's why you look for jobs that pay cash-in-hand.

RE: Opting out of Social Security
If I'm understanding you correctly, you just pay taxes and the government handles how it distributes it.
I think it's fair that the government supports unemployed people to keep them alive, and potentially, give them a chance to become employed.
If you don't like the US, come to Australia and try paying 45% of your income as tax.

everyone pays it why do you think you're so special
This. I pay national health, national insurance, on top of all my regular taxes, and student finance loans. Everyone has to pay their country in one way or another, its not a special america thing, and hardly something to compain about
You might not be happy with whereever your country is, but i doubt it would even be that far ahead if no one payed for its upkeep at the end of the day
