yeah if i were to cosplay it would be purely for the fun of dressing like my favourite character rather than looking true to form.

also the pictures assassinator posted are just the difference between hot girls cosplaying and horrific (image 1) or not-so-attractive (image 2) girls cosplaying.

srsly, the haruhi girls are wearing the same clothes, the only difference is one is 'shopped and smokin', the other is a normal girl with a non-professional photo, neither here nor there attractiveness wise.

I never said it's not ok to cosplay, I just said most cosplays... aren't great.

Think of something like playing chess. Lots of people play it, but most players are pretty bad. And similarily, the large majority of people simply play purely for fun, and don't particularly care about loosing. No thoughts of destroying their opponents or advancing your ratings (I once played chess cometitvely, not any more though).
