ATTENTION Assassinator
im dumb and sick of a gui for x264 encodes... can't get deblocking done right... do you or anyone know of a guide for idiots to using just x264.exe?  GUIs suck. please help if possible.

Hey, AVIdemux is a good GUI that can work for x264. Don't hate the GUIs.

Deblocking?  That's more part of visual filtering than x264 settings (assuming the blocks were originally present.  If the blocks only appear after encoding, then you're no using enough bitrate).

I can have a look at it if you provide a short sample clip or something.

my source is a ntsc vob file.. dvd clip... no flaws..  so maybe not enough bitrate..
for apple tv so ill look up the max it can handle...   ill try to get a sample

What's your bitrate?  Generally needs to be pretty low for you to see significant blocking.

In that case, maybe provide a sample of the output instead of the input.
