Edit:  Just to tell you though, I'm not sure what your problem is, since I haven't heard of it before.  This may or may not work/be your problem.  In any case, you said you upgraded it.  Have you tried formatting and reflashing?  That sounds like the more likely issue, as corrupt IDstorage will usually result in a message saying "the disc can not be read" without the umd spinning.

Also.. try testing out your ad hoc.  Use photo sharing or something.  If that works, might not be IDStorage corruption.

ya, i was gonna say,
go to id storage regeneration in dc7, or try to reflash flash1...
did it work on only umd mode (not -- NO UMD)
