well long story short, my heat sink was not working for some time now. that was rectified by getting a new heatsink. But even after that, my PC kept freezing and overheating and what not. eventually, 2 days ago, my PC decided to give up on me. My AMD X2 5600+ 64bit processor died leaving the entire setup without a working brain.

Now I have filed an RMA with AMD (or at least am going to now) to have it replaced. Luckily I have internet on my phone, but it can't edit word documents. So i have come to a netcafe... an experience I had long forgotten... (which is, I dunno, a good thing or bad... you see, a real hot girl just walked in!!)..

anyhoo, so the entire pickup and replace process is gonna take more than 15 days. So my machine is a dead machine for that time. I no longer have my sister's Aspire One or any laptop @ home...

so the bottomline is, for those who care, that I won't be online as much. I could still access internet from my workplace (like always lol) but apparently wee are getting a new sys admin who I've been told, is gonna screw peoples donkey regarding net connectivity. Luckily I am in that department that needs full internet access, so I don't think I'll have any tabs or bars on which sites I visit.

One good thing taht can happen from this episode is that now I can prioritize getting a laptop. I have been puttong tht of for quite some time now. oh well...

well, anyways.. the point is that I ,ay not be on as much... so it be awesome if someone will fill up on wats been on later!

damn sucks about the overheating...what caused it....just not noticing the heatsink was dead quick enough?

spoon man. balls about that cpu. if i were in your situation i wouldn't be able to live without a working pc at home. i'd go down to the local pc store and buy the cheapest CPU i could that would fit.

at home i have a total of 6 (mine, brothers, dads, ghetto computer (remember that? still going strong!), and my parents'  work laptops) usable computers so if ever mine breaks i always have another i  can use. this is annoying for the rest of my family as my computer seems to break on a daily basis. usually because i changed some setting i wasn't meant to.

so far though i haven't had a single hardware failure except a fan that seized. luckily speedfan noticed something was wrong and alerted me before anything went bang.

Balls to mobile internet. Its so slow n expensive over here.

I don't think I'll invest in another cpu.
How the cpu fried, is beyond me. It just started overheating only a week back or so. I can only attribute it to overclocking.  
I'd love to get a laptop but lets c!!!
