RE: Should i buy this PC?
PSPkiller Wrote:in my experience Gateway are pretty good. at least a lot better than Dell.
OFF TOPIC: (i had a dell blow up on me after installing a cd burner. i somehow managed to simultaneously fry the CPU, MoBo and PSU. Dell support refused to do anything about it saying that end-user upgrades aren't covered by the warranty when it stated clearly in the manual that within certain limits (cd burners are allowed) they are. after a few weeks without a computer dell gave in and took the computer away to be fixed.)
ON TOPIC: looks good apart from the graphics. also you may want to know that Phenom X3's are Phenom X4's that are faulty and had one of their cores disabled. AMD make no attempt to hide this fact. I'm not saying they're bad chips, in fact better than some of Intel's offerings at that price, but you may want to bare that in mind...
Also, the hard drive model isn't specified, meaning its probably a fairly cheap one. i know its not as major a component as something like the CPU but it does have an impact on performance, especially loading times. theres nothing wrong with a cheap drive, even cheap ones nowadays last for yaers without problems, but you may want a little more performance... you decide...
thanks for the info. I decided to build one instead. It would cost me the same amount of money if i build one but i would get a intel quad core processor and a better graphics card. Newegg is really cheap to buy parts from.
